How to install an aluminum LED profile?

led strip lights, led strips

The aluminum LED profile makes it possible to create luminaires or light bars of customized lengths that perfectly adapt to your project (cornice lighting, furniture underside, staircase). The Club LED has selected for you two ranges of profiles:

·         Professional aluminum LEDs ON range   (made in Poland), made of high quality aluminum and available with several optics of the same quality (transparent, opal, OptiPlex, focus, dispersant or 3D)
·         Eco-friendly aluminum profiles to obtain a profile at the best price

The brightness is provided by an LED strip that sticks to the inside of the profile.

Material list

Aluminum section
  • ·         LED ribbon (white LED ribbon, color, RGB LED ribbon or   RGB + W LED ribbon) - to learn more about the different RGBW LED strips.
  • ·         Diffuser (also called optics)
  • ·         Finishing capsule
  • ·         Fastening clips or double-sided tape
  • ·         LED power supply 12 or 24V
  • ·         LED RGB controller (if RGB or RGB + W ribbon)
  •

1. Hardware test

Before you start installing the ribbon in the profile, it is best to test the ribbon for proper operation. Connect the ribbon to the transformer according to the diagram below (example 24V).

2. Installing the ribbon in the profile

Without removing the double-sided tape, pre-position the tape in the profile, if necessary you can cut the tape where a small pair of scissors are printed (Figure A). Once the ribbon has been cut to the correct length, remove the double face and glue the ribbon into the bottom of the profile (Figures B and C).

3. Installing the holey capsule

The hole-shaped finishing cap allows the ribbon threads to be passed out of the profile (if you do not have a holey capsule you can use a drill to make the hole.) Pass the threads through the hole to the hole once the wires have passed, place the capsule at the end of the profile by pressing firmly and the wires will then be connected to the power supply.

4. Installation of the optical diffuser

On the side that does not yet have a finishing cap just slide the light diffuser into place on the profile. If the diffuser is too long, carefully cut it to avoid cracking or cracking the PMMA.

5. Installation of the LED profile

Use the fastening clips sold separately, in this case, it is necessary to count one fastening clipper meter of profile
  • ·         Use double-sided tape (less durable installation) - see diagram below
  • ·         Screw directly inside the profile to fix it on the support
  • ·         Fixing the led profile

6. Electrical connection

Once the profile is installed, it must be electrically connected to the power supply and possibly to the controller, dimmer or switch.
